More institutionalisation funded by the state #RTEInvestigates Dan and Joe broke me tonight. Soup runs and goodwill are not solving anything while housing is not viewed as a human right - and don’t tell us it’s complicated.

Am I right in thinking that there is very little direct quotation of testimony from the Confidential Committee in the main body of the Report?

I welcome the Taoiseach's apology on behalf of the State for rights violations in #motherandbabyhomes. But we have had such apologies on related issues in recent years which were not backed up by action. Let this time be different. Meaningful redress; meaningful access to records

I'm calling for the government to IMMEDIATELY to give adopted people the right to access their birth certificates. Will you join me by signing this petition? #MotherandBabyHomes https://my.uplift.ie/petitions/birth-certs-now-for-adoptees?bucket=&source=twitter-share-button&utm_campaign=&utm_medium=myuplift&utm_source=twitter&share=9a3e38af-e042-4959-9798-0c6a085d895f via @UpliftIRL

Dáil (1919): It shall be the first duty of the Government.. to make provision for the physical, mental and spiritual well-being of the children, to secure that no child shall suffer hunger or cold from lack of food, clothing, or shelter.

Dáil (2020): 2,452 children are homeless.

Yes. Keep saying it. https://twitter.com/kittyjstewart/status/1349100076363354120

Kitty Stewart@kittyjstewart

Research evidence strongly suggests that giving low income families more money improves children’s outcomes. Here’s our systematic review. It’s not exactly a shock result but it seems to need saying. And saying again and again and again and again https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s12187-020-09782-0

Thhs is a brilliant must read from Don O'Leary of @CorkLifeCentre on how remote learning will fail the most vulnerable (but Don and his army are doing everything they can to prevent it) 😇 https://www.irishexaminer.com/opinion/commentanalysis/arid-40206464.html?type=amp
